Summer days...

It's been so hot...I suppose it's hot everywhere in JULY, right?!?!? :) This is one of many indoor projects that the kids and I busied ourselves with. This one was making use of our huge bag of broken crayons. They enjoyed making their own crayons, their own color combinations and even a hurricane crayon for dude. :) Unfotunately, I ruined a muffin pan but it needed to be replaced anyhow, now, it's in with the craft supplies.
Directions : Prehead oven to 350
pell & break crayons into smaller peices. place crayons into mold...(we used the cupcake/ muffin pan).
place in oven until the crayons look stirrable/ melted (about 7 minutes)
place immediately into freezer.
crayons will be ready in about 30 minutes, but the recipe we used said 2 hours...ours were ready MUCH sooner.
Have fun!
Caleb was being a bit lazy during this project. He didn't like unpeeling the crayons...he just wanted to break them. Go figure.
Noah was very specific about his color combinations - thinking of lots of people for inspiration. He made the following:
Sela's crayon - pink & purple
Dudes' crayon - green & orange
Cole's crayon (his friend) - black & gold (UCF)
Bumblebee - black & yellow
rainbow - all the leftover colors
4th of July - red white & blue
Daddy's crayon - blue & green
Caleb's crayon - silver & green (the only one caleb helped with!)
Mom's crayon - pink, yellow & green
