We took our very first vacation with Ava when she was a month old. Granted...it was a 1 night stay in a hotel only 3 hours away (Ft. Lauderdale) but we had a great time. It was a much needed break from reality for all of us.

Rob was working at this hotel all week and because he finished early, we were able to join him for the rest of his stay. Yay!

It was REALLY hot. I couldn't get in the water b/c it hasn't been 6 weeks yet.

grr...i'm a rule follower on this! Not worth the risk.

Ava was so hot. We had to leave only an hour after we got there. We found a shady spot up by the playground.

The kids had a great time in this playarea. It was absolutely beautiful...and enjoyable in the shade & breeze.

How cool is this? A playground ON the beach. Gotta love south Florida!

The kids had such a good time in this pool...it was really nice.

See...Ava really was there. Rob and I were taking turns hanging with her on the deck and playing with the kids in the pool.
It was such a great mini vacation.
